My husband decided last spring that it was time to get a new vehicle.  So he went out and bought himself a new Ford Truck.  He loves his truck!

Yes Sir – no doubt about it – the man is now in his element.

You see, back a couple years ago in March… (I remember because I was fighting the worst flu of my life) my husband decided to go to the BIG TENT SALE with his two little girls.  He looked around at all the vehicles and he narrowed it down to a truck and a Kia Sportage.

Did I mention he had his two girls with him??

The girls were just giddy over the Hot Red Kia Sportage, and that is just exactly what my man came home with.  Who needs a truck – they got themselves a red 4-wheel drive mini SUV.   Well, this little vehicle is a nice ride.  It has 4-wheel drive; so while others were getting stuck here or there when the snow falls – the little Kia would push right through.  It’s just a really cute little SUV.

But therein lies the problem.  My husband doesn’t like driving CUTE!  Hence the reason we now own that Ford Truck.  We offered the cute SUV to my son.  Afterall, his 94 Firebird is on it’s VERY last legs – but oh noooo – the Sportage is too cute for him too and definitely doesn’t have the POWER that he needs to drive around here.  You know here, where the average speed limit is 35 MPH.

SO…we put the Kia up for sale.  Very half-heartedly mind you – a couple signs and parked in our driveway.  We didn’t push too hard because when the boys Firebird would breakdown (every other day) he had something to drive.  Well, we finally decided we needed to cut the Kia loose and we placed an ad.

My fifteen year old daughter then watched as a couple people came to check it out.  And the light bulb went off in her brain.  So – long story short – she begged me to ask her Daddy not to sell it.  She asked me to ask him to just keep paying for it for now.  She will gladly take over the payment when she can get a job at 16.

So being the good mom that I am…I called my husband and told him we had to keep the Kia.

Now this daughter is JUST like her daddy and they both know it – so she’s got this special “in” with him.  He didn’t blink his eyes – he just said, OK!

My 15 year old then comes to me and tells me that she wants to get a job but she isn’t sure it will be easy to find one, and that MAYBE I should sign up to do something that SHE could do with me.  I told her she could do bra fittings with me – but I may as well have been telling her she would need to dress up like a chicken and jump off a cliff because she is horrified at the thought of doing a bra business.

So we are now on the search for something I can help her with and she can bring in at least some of the money for her new shiny, red and CUTE mini SUV that she will own in another few months.
Am I crazy???  I MUST be – like I have time to be doing another business?!  I LOVE my bra business, so I will not stop doing that!

Well, what’s a girl to do?

I want to teach my daughter the thrill of creating your own income.  The fun and excitement that can come from doing that.  I want her to know the freedom she will experience by building a home business. I am just so excited for her (and me too).  I get to help her do this and watch her bloom into a great business woman – the lessons she can learn from this will help her throughout her life.

This girl is going to help her younger girl earn her very first car -

That’s what these girls are going to do!
