Well, I completed my first week back on my low carb way of life and seriously focused on living and eating the way that works best for me.  I thought I better check in before I get to the end of week two!   Week One was great.  I felt good and I got results.  I knew I would.  I am SO glad to be back after the hiatus my doctor asked me to take.  YUCK – NEVER, EVER, EVER AGAIN!

My weight loss:

YES!!

I don’t think the weeks to come will be that dramatic – but dang, that feels good.

No, I didn’t starve – I ate salads, fruit, steak, chicken and eggs and even some turkey bacon.  I ate out a couple times – and just staying within my rules keeps me in losing or at minimum maintaining mode.  I never want to be in gaining mode again!  I’m not saying it won’t happen because even I agree that sometimes you gotta have a little something naughty.  Holidays – Birthdays (your own, not EVERYONE else you know and love), things like that are a time to celebrate and not worry quite so much about what’s going to your tummy.  :D

What else do I notice?

The clothes are fitting better.

The mood is getting  better.

My skin – oh YES – my skin was like a teen’s while I was eating the way the doctor wanted me to.  Now – it’s clearing up so nice – AHHH.

My energy level has already increased.

Yes, that much can change in ONE week.

I am at about a week and a half now as I write this, but things are going great!  I know now, in my heart, that low carb is the best way for me to live and live my life to it’s fullest.  Adding back even some of the starchy stuff simply created havoc on my moods, my body and my appearance.  Getting off of them feels wonderful.  I am not sacrificing – I am LIVING!

I’d love for others that are out there making life changes to check in here and tell me how you are doing.  What you are feeling.  Ask questions if you aren’t sure where to start.  I’m not a doctor, but I love talking about life changes you are making to improve your life!

Live Better,

  • Hi Kiki !
By the way you look great in your photo…it’s true that it must be working as you look wonderful for your age. You have said nothing much about exercise in all of this…please tell me more.
I’m on a very healthy pattern of eating and I don’t starve by any means and also belive in a treat now and then. I am a great believer in soy (including tofu) and linseed oil and oh yes oatbran.
Low carbs is good but are my weakness. I looove potatoes etc. I am working on that one but I don’t think I would be as healthy as I am without the step=ups I do with weights. I have further to go but I am taking it slow and easily.
THANKS for your newsletter Kiki. Hear from you soon.

  • Diane,

Thanks so much for the compliments. :) I may be 41 but I feel 25 – so to me, age is just a number – nothing more.

You are correct, I haven’t addressed that as yet – BUT I will. I am trying a few different things – testing the waters so to speak. But I need to do them regularly for a while to see what kind of a difference they make to my life.

    Stay tuned…

    Kiki
