My faith is very important to me and as I walk through this life – He becomes more important to me all the time. I don’t know how I would have made it through some of the things I have dealt with in this life without God in my life.
I enjoy the church we attend. What left the biggest impression on me early on was the pastor actually taught us in a something I hadn’t really considered before.
That is simply this: If a church is doing something and it’s not in the Bible – it’s a man-made rule. They teach this way too – they teach from the Bible – not what “man” would have us do but what God requires us to do. I had attended another church – and during certain times you were to stand up and say a line; sit back down and you sat waiting till the cue in the bulletin said you should stand up and say something again…that is man-made worship. It doesn’t come from your soul – it comes from the bulletin and it frustrates me when we go to a church and have to do that. I spend more time trying to figure out what I am supposed to be doing next – when all I want to do is worship the Lord and maybe share something I have learned or learn something new that I hadn’t considered before.
So many churches tell you that you have to say this or do that and it was just so refreshing to learn that God wants us to worship him in whatever way we are comfortable with…words simply repeated after someone else will NEVER mean as much as just simply coming to Him in prayer and worship.
I am learning new things every week and feel very blessed. Continue seeking a church until you find the one that speaks to your heart – He will lead you to where you need to be. I do think it’s important to attend a church – just keep in mind that it’s just a guide to get you in front of Him – it’s not the total answer to your faith!
God Bless,
Kiki Vogel
